I'm currently on patch 1.6.89 (as I see no reason to update to 1.7). I run very few mods - the USKP, Live Another Life and Ars Metallica. I'm assuming there's something going wrong with the scripts to trigger the Dremora so I pulled all the DA07 scripts out of the bsa. I've also tried setstage to bypass talking to him and finishing the quest, still CTD. I can go right back into the game (I saved before taking the dagger) and CTD in the same spot.
This has happened on multiple characters so it's a constant. As soon as I take the dagger and he starts saying "Wait a minute." I CTD.
